Communications for Communications

I recently had the pleasure of shooting an advertising campaign for the Nicholson School of Communications at UCF over several days. I had a really great time shooting for them and their new Marketing Director Laurel. I was able to break out of the ordinary and explore the scenes to try and capture images that are free of the standard contrivances that plague many marketing images.  I was, on top of that, able to make visual connections to the university as a whole as well as shape the images around the degree program itself. Overall the student volunteers were really easy to work with and we had a good turnout.  Yes!

Jump

Just finished shooting, editing and producing this video for UCF a few days ago. I shot this exclusively on a 1D Mark IV and a 7D and edited in Premiere CS5. I’m really enjoying editing in CS5. This new machine I am working on keeps crashing for whatever reason, so I spent much of my time redoing things several times. So far it has something like 1600 views. Not too shabby.

Trust Me

So, this one just sort of fell in my lap out of the blue. If also flew past me without much thought or consideration, I literally walked into this story without knowing what the story was really about. The weekly’s first photographer on this assignment was having car trouble, so the notice was about eight hours. Though, it isn’t too unfamiliar ground; do you truly know the story until you step foot into it? The land trust seems like a really interesting concept to explore, this couple are in the middle of exploring their land trust experience–they seemed happy. Check out the fully story.

Andy Matchett and the Minks

I recently had the privilege to meet and photograph Andy Matchett and the Minks for the Cover of the Orlando Weekly. This was a particularly interesting shoot, which ranged from sidewalk-chalk-headdresses to piles of condoms. I have to thank The Center for graciously allowing us to use their space (not to mention their wall) to wander around and make photographs. Justin Strout wrote a really interesting story about the band, Check out the full story.

Orlando Food Truck Scene

The food truck scene is starting to burst at the seems here in Orlando. It sure was hot in those food trucks running friers, not sure how those folks do it all day.
